Eligibility Requirements
For a high school that is public, charter or private, to become a member of the College Board it must fulfill the criteria below:
- Have a graduating class or enrollment sufficient for a near future graduating class
- Offer grades 9 through 12
- Be appropriately accredited
- Use College Board programs or services, as described below
Accreditation
A public high school is appropriately accredited if one of the following is true:
- It is authorized by the state department of education to issue diplomas.
- It is accredited by the state superintendent of education, board of education, or other authorized agent of the state.
- It is accredited by the regional agency or similarly recognized accrediting body.
A nonpublic high school is appropriately accredited if it is accredited by the appropriate regional agency or through the umbrella recognition process of the National Association of Independent Schools.
Use of College Board Programs or Services
A high school must document regular and substantial use of one or more of the following College Board programs or services:
- Advanced Placement Program® (AP®)
- CollegeEd®
- CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE®
- PSAT/NMSQT®
- SAT®
- SAT Subject Tests™
- SpringBoard®
- Pre-AP®
